All of our staff participate in fundraising efforts for the identified charities. Jean and T-shirt days, snack baskets, 50/50 raffles and prize raffles. Some raffles even allow our patients to help out with the fundraising. Every little bit helps!
November/ December 2016
For the months of November AND December, our friends at Maple City PT were sending gifts to “Operation Shoebox” so we donated needed items towards their cause. Our staff also collected toys, clothes and other gifts for the upcoming Christmas holiday to donate to SISTER SUSAN’S in Canisteo.
November was a busy month at CVFP! We held a hat, mitten and scarf drive and donated the proceeds to SISTER SUSAN’S. One of our lucky patients was chosen at random to win our $100 Thanksgiving Feast Give-a-Way! We also made a monetary donation to ST.ANN’S Veteran’s Day fund.
In the month of October we donated various snacks, cases of bottled water and juice boxes to SISTER SUSAN in Canisteo.
September’s fundraising recipient was the HORNELL HUMANE SOCIETY! Staff collected all sorts of needed items and we also made a monetary donation.
For the months of July and August we collected school supplies and backpacks to give to both TURNING POINT and SISTER SUSAN’S in anticipation of the upcoming school year!
April and May 2016
For the months of April and May we raised money for an upcoming medical mission trip to Chulucanas, Peru. We held a FITNESS BASKET RAFFLE in conjunction with Maple City Physical Therapy! The basket contained over $450 worth of fitness items ranging from a Fit bit and fitness gear to $50 gift certificates to Maple City PT and various other local merchants. The winner was Susan Clark!

In the month of April, CVFP also gave a donation and sponsored a team in the Hornell Area Concern for Youth’s 4th Annual Kickball Extravaganza! Our team went all the way to the championship game but finally lost to the team from Wegmans. We proudly received a second place trophy which was the PERFECT end to a really FUN day!!
Step walk 2016
In April CVFP also made a donation to the Steps Walk to End Poverty in Steuben County, hosted by CHATHOLIC CHARITIES. Our team participated in the mile long walk through scenic Hornell and had a great time too!
The month of March at CVFP was deemed “MUSTACHE MARCH FOR JUVENILE DIABETES”! We raised money with T-shirt sales, raffles tickets, Jean Days, snack baskets, a donation jar in the waiting room and a March Madness bracket pool! As you can see we had A GREAT TIME with this fundraiser!! All money raised will go directly to the local chapter of JDRF.
CVFP also made a donation towards the “2016 Black Cat Event” hosted by the HORNELL ANIMAL SHELTER.
For the month of February to help raise money, we had a VALENTINE’S DAY BASKET RAFFLE and we also held a PIE MAKING CONTEST! There were 5 different entrants and the “tasters” made a donation to be able to cast their votes. DANIELLE was the lucky winner of the “sparkly pie server for 2016” with her delicious grasshopper pie!! A monetary donation was made to ARC.
In anticipation of the upcoming holidays, CVFP collected clothes, toys and made a monetary donation to SISTER SUSAN’S/ Steuben County Rural Ministry for the month of November!
Fundraising for the month of October involved both collecting toys and giving a monetary donation to SISTER SUSAN’S in Canisteo.
Fundraising for the month of August was collected in honor of The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life team “Marga-RELAY-ville” and donated to The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center in Rochester. All month long we sold tickets for a $100 money “basket”. We also collected money from our weekly “jean days”, snack baskets and 50/50 raffles.
June and July 2015
Fundraising for the months of June and July was collected to go towards an upcoming medical mission trip to Chulucanas, Peru. We held a SUMMER BASKET RAFFLE SPECTACULAR! Each basket was created by each one of our departments: providers, nurses, lab, secretaries and managers. Each was very different and each contained $50 worth of great gifts!
During the month of June, we also collected travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash/soap, tooth brushes and toothpaste to send to the mission in Chulucanas, Peru. Every patient that has surgery during the mission is sent home with a care package containing these basic, yet essential items. There were many, many items donated, so with your help, we were able to ship over 650 travel sized items to our friends in Peru. Thank you so much for your generosity!
Also during the month of July, CVFP made a donation to the “RALLY FOR THE CURE” golf tournament.
Fundraising for the month of May was collected to benefit the HORNELL AREA ARTS COUNCIL. We raffled off a beautiful HANDMADE MESSAGE CENTER, created by our very own Olivia! We also collected money from our weekly “jean days”, snack baskets and 50/50 raffles.
CVFP donated funds to the 2015 CANISTEO-GREENWOOD Lock-in.
We also made a donation to the HORNELL HIGH SCHOOL 2015 Post Prom and Senior Auction.
Fundraising for the month of April was collected in honor of Autism Awareness month. The office sold Autism Awareness ribbons, we raffled off a GARDENING SUPPLY BASKET and also collected empty cans for recycling.
CVFP made a donation to the CANISTEO ROTARY CLUB for their annual Penny Sale.
We also gave a donation and sponsored a team in the Hornell Area Concern for Youth’s 3rd Annual Kickball Extravaganza! Our team put on a very valiant effort and barely lost 3-2 to the team from Wal-Mart. A terrific time was had by all and we can’t wait to participate again next year!
Fundraising for the month of March included raffling off a really fun ST. PATRICK’S DAY BASKET! A monetary donation was made to FAITH IN ACTION, a local group of volunteers who’s mission is to assist the elderly in a multitude of ways, allowing them to continue to live independently. Fundraising for the month of February included our staff wearing Rheumatoid Arthritis T-shirts and donating the funds from our weekly “jean days” to the RA FOUNDATION.
We also raffled off a terrific VALENTINE’S DAY BASKET and the proceeds from that were donated to the BETHESDA FOUNDATION.
Fundraising for the month of January included a SOUP COOK OFF. There were 10 different entrants and the “tasters” donated $5 each to try out as many tasty soups as they wanted and cast their vote. As the winner, Jennifer was awarded the “sparkly spoon” award for 2015!
Fundraising for the month of November involved collecting toys for “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD”. Each participant would fill a box with gifts suitable for either a boy or girl, which were then collected and shipped to needy children overseas.
We also proudly made a donation to the CANISTEO VALLEY ENRICHMENT FOUNDATION.
Fundraising for the month of October included collecting toys for RURAL MINISTRY (up to age 14) and we also raffled off a PIZZA BASKETwith items like a pizza serving kit, utensils & gift certificate. Along with the many toys we collected, we also gave a monetary donation to SISTER SUSAN.
Fundraising for the month of September focused on an upcoming medical mission trip to Chulucanas, Peru.
We also made a monetary donation to the NORTHEAST KIDNEY FOUNDATION 1st Annual 5K Walk/Run being held at the YMCA in Hornell on September 20th.
Fundraising for the month of August included collecting school supplies each week as our “Jean Day” donation and we raffled off an ICE CREAM BASKET to also help raise money to buy more supplies for the upcoming school year. We gave these items and a monetary donation to both RURAL MINISTRY and CONCERN FOR YOUTH.
CVFP has also donated funds this month to a local resident and business owner in their time of need.
Fundraising for the month of July was done for the food pantries at RURAL MINISTRY in Canisteo and the Hornell Area CONCERN FOR YOUTH. During the summer months with kids out of school, we concentrated mainly on healthy, kid friendly snacks and lunch items. We proudly donated 3 large boxes to Sister Susan and 2 large boxes to Concern for Youth.
Fundraising for the month of June was done for the Relay For Life team Marga-Relay-Ville. All money donated to Relay For Life goes towards cancer awareness and research. CVFP gave a monetary donation towards this terrific cause.
Fundraising for the month of May was done for the Bath VA Jump Start Program. This program helps Veterans who are being discharged into the community and helps them establish apartments on their own. Pictured here is Lynn Dinehart, Volunteer & Recreation Manager of the Bath VA, along with Stephanie and Dr. Bruce MacKellar. CVFP gave a monetary donation and various items, such as sheets, towels, cookware, and personal toiletries. We will be donating some handmade flag quilts as well.
